Immunity Boost Seed Crackers

Did you know that B12 may benefit your body in many impressive ways, including supporting immune system function? An essential vitamin that your body needs but cannot produce so you have to get it through your diet.

With that in mind we invited the team at The Natural Nutritionist to create a delicious and nutrient pack recipe using cricket powder. And they’ve created the healthiest and easiest cracker recipe ever!
When it comes to healthy crackers store-bought options usually aren’t the best. Many times they’ve got fillers, preservatives and artificial flavours.

These crackers are crispy, thin, flourless and gluten-free made with cricket powder for extra vitamin B12 to boost immunity. It’s very easy to make and you will love it. Crackers are a perfect savoury snack to have on hand. They would be especially delicious with hummus or guacamole. Enjoy!

  • 2 tbs (20g) Grilo Cricket Powder
  • 1 cup flaxseeds
  • ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
  • ¼ cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • 1¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½-1 teaspoon sea salt

Preheat the oven to 90°C and line a large baking tray with baking paper.

Add the flaxseeds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds to a food processor and pulse until ground into a sand like texture. It’s ok if some of the seeds remain whole for a chunkier texture.

Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir until combined. Leave to sit for 10-15 minutes for the seeds to soak up the liquid.

Give the mixture another good stir and then spread the mixture onto the baking tray. We like our crackers thin and crunchy so spread it quite thin but it is entirely up to you.

Use a knife to score the mixture into desired sized pieces.
Transfer the tray to the oven and bake on low heat for 3 hours, turning the crackers over at the halfway point.

Allow to cool in the oven prior to breaking into pieces. Crackers will store in an air tight container for up to a month.
